NC CWC meeting postponed after some leaders diagnosed with COVID-19

KATHMANDU: A central working committee meeting (CWC) of the Nepali Congress (NC) has been postponed after some center committee members and staffers tested positive for coronavirus.

The meeting convened for today has been postponed after the coronavirus infection was confirmed in some central members, said Krishna Prasad Poudel, chief secretary of the NC central office.

Central Working Committee member Chinkaji Shrestha and central office staffers have tested positive for coronavirus.

Central Office Secretary Paudel informed that Mukti Acharya, Resham Kumal, and Ram Chandra Ghimire were among the employees who have tested positive for coronavirus.

The meeting has been postponed as per the instruction as it seemed inappropriate to attend the meeting in large numbers at a time when coronavirus infection cases are increasing at an alarming rate.

A PCR test conducted on Tuesday confirmed the coronavirus in some central members, a member of the secretariat, and three security personnel.

Earlier, the CWC meeting  scheduled for Monday was postponed saying that the meeting will be held after the PCR test.
