Three more Nepalis abroad succumb to coronavirus



KATHMANDU: Three more Nepalis have succumbed to coronavirus infection abroad last week, according to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).

NRNA health committee press coordinator Chiran Sharma said that two Nepalis died in the UK and one in Portugal last week. With this, the number of Nepalis died in various 21 countries abroad reached 339 till Saturday evening.

Similarly, Covid-19 was reported among 62,401 Nepalis in 53 countries so far. Among them, 60,124 Nepalis have recovered, shared coordinator Sharma, adding this puts the recovery rate among the Nepalis abroad at 96.3 per cent.

Italy and Ukraine had reported the first cases of Covid-19 among the Nepalis, according to NRNA.

In Nepal, the Covid-19 caseload stands at 274,065. Among them, 270,325 have fully recovered taking the recovery rate at 98.6 per cent.
