Cancer patient provided Rs 1.8 million assistance

KATHMANDU: Various social organizations set up by Nepali diaspora in different countries came together to provide monetary assistance- Rs 1.8 million to a cancer patient at Galkot Municipality-4 in Baglung district.

A campaign was launched to raise fund for Durga Subedi, 47, who was unable to avail treatment for cancer given her financial constraint.

Galkot Samaj Japan, Galkot Sports Club Japan, Galkot Nuwakot Samaj Japan, Baglung Samaj Japan, Kharuwa Samaj Japan among other organizations contributed in cash for Subedi, informed Niluwa Samaj Chamuwa, Japan’s Chairperson Tham Bahadur Chhetri.

Some Good Samaritan Nepalis abroad have supported for Subedi’s cause, according to Chhetri. The amount has already been handed over to Subedi’s family to take forward treatment process, it was shared.
