Election Commission summons both factions of NCP

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has invited both factions of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) for discussions.

The EC has written separate letters to KP Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” invited five people from each faction, including the chairpersons.

EC Spokesperson Raj Kumar Shrestha informed that both factions have been called for discussion at 11:30 am on Friday.

The letter sent by the commission has not mentioned anything about the party-related dispute. However, the EC said that the issue would be discussed as it is related to the NCP dispute.

Spokesperson Shrestha said that the issue is being discussed as the time has come to publish the information to register the party for the upcoming general elections.

He also said that discussions will be held on the election law and preparations for the election.

Earlier, both the factions of the NCP had claimed in an official petition. The EC has already said that the claims of both parties would not be addressed.
