APF enters final in PM Cup cricket



KATHMANDU: The APF club of the Armed Police Force has entered the final of the 4th PM Cup one-day men’s cricket tournament.

In the first semi-final match held at the TU cricket ground in Kirtipur today, the APF defeated Nepal Police Club by 30 runs.

Put into bat after losing the toss, the APF posted a total of 203 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
Shanker Rana top-scored with 44 runs followed by Bhuvan Karki (42) and Sandip Jora (34).

In reply, the NPC lost all its wickets with only 173 runs on the board in 49.2 overs. Only Pawan Sarraf made a significant contribution for the NPC with 40 runs.

Bhuvan Karki of APF took four wickets while Kamal Singh Aire, Abinash Bohara and captain Sharad Bheswakar took two wickets each to take their team to the final.

The APF will now play in the final against the winner of the second semi-final to be held at the same venue tomorrow between Tribhvan Army Club and Bagmati province.
