KATHMANDU: A shot was fired inside Singha Durbar today. A round was fired from the pistol of Assistant Inspector Anupama Bharti, the personal security guard of National Assembly Vice-Chairperson Shashikala Dahal.

The incident took place at the Parliament Secretariat Building No. 2 and damage was reported.

Police said that the incident took place while examining the pistol after completion of her duty.

Spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, Superintendent of Police Sushil Singh Rathore shared that an investigation into the incident is underway.
