KATHMANDU: The Unified Socialist Party has got “Pen” as its election symbol.

The Election Commission (EC) has given the election symbol to the party after the CPN (Unified) led by Jeevan Rai merged with the Unified Socialist led by Madhav Kumar Nepal.

After the unification of the two parties, an agreement was reached between them to keep the Pen as the party’s election symbol.

Meanwhile, Jeevan Rai has been nominated as the party’s central member and Sunsari district deputy in-charge by the Socialist Party.
