Corruption accused Chudamani Sharma released on Rs 5 million bail

KATHMANDU: A Special Court has sought bail of Rs 5 million from the then Member Secretary of the Tax Settlement Commission (TSC) Chudamani Sharma.

Sharma appeared in a special court in Kathmandu on Monday.

A bench of special court members Abdul Aziz Musalman and Nityananda Pandey on Monday ordered his release on Rs 5 million bail.

Following the special order, Sharma has started arrangement for bail.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a corruption case against Sharma, then Chairman Lumbadhwaj Mahat and member Umesh Prakash Dhakal on June 23, alleging that the TSC had incurred a loss of more than 1.332 billion Rupees to the government.
