Leopard kills 23 goats in Bardiya

KATHMANDU: A leopard straying from a nearby community forest entered the human settlement and killed 23 goats at Gulariya Municipality-5 in Bardiya district.

The goats worth approximately Rs 300 thousand were destroyed in the incident, said the police.

The leopard killed the goats at night that were kept at a Brish livestock farm belonging to a farmer Chandra Kanta Poudel, said the local people.

Shortly, a police team from the district police officers reached the incident site and took stock of the preliminary loss, said Inspector Gopal Poudel, adding that details of the exact loss in the incident have yet to come by.
