Maoists Center postpones municipal conventions till November 20

Schedule for District, Province and National Convention goes unchanged

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center has postponed the municipal level conventions set for October 16 till November 20.

According to Maoist Center leader Dev Gurung, the Standing Committee (SC) meeting held at Paris Danda, Kathmandu on Monday decided to postpone the municipal convention citing the busy schedule of the people during the festive season, and the national vaccination drive going ahead simultaneously.

However, the date of the local level conferences, has not been changed till date.

Earlier, the Maoists Center had said that it would hold municipal conferences on October 16.

The party had decided to organize the Cell and Toll level conference on September 10.

“There is talk of holding a district level conference on November 16 and a province conference on December 20,” Maoist Center SC member Gurung said.
