CPN Unified Socialist forms 5-member Standing Committee



KATHMANDU: The newly-formed CPN Unified Socialist has formed a five-member Standing Committee.

The Standing Committee consists of Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal, and leaders Mukunda Neupane, Beduram Bhusal and Pramesh Hamal. All the five members were also members of the CPN-UML Standing Committee.

According to leader Bhusal, the party is planning to expand the Standing Committee and form a Secretariat after holding a national convention. “This Standing Committee is temporary and has been formed to work immediately. The Standing Committee will be expanded soon,” said Bhusal.

The CPN Unified Socialist, which was formed after splitting from the CPN-UML, has gained recognition Wednesday. The Unified Socialists is yet to nominate its office bearers.
