Indian Embassy in Kathmandu hands over flood, landslide relief materials worth Rs 80 mln

KATHMANDU: Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of India, Nepal, Namgya C. Khampa has handed over consignments of flood and landslide relief materials worth Rs 80 million to lawmaker and President of Nepal-India Women Friendship Society (NIWFS) Chanda Chaudhary and National Organizing Secretary of Pragyik Vidyarthi Parishad (PVP) Narayan Dhakal on Friday.

The relief material includes tents, plastic sheets, sleeping mats and medicines for distribution among flood and landslide affected families in 15 districts of Nepal.

Relief materials provided by Indian Embassy.

In view of the recent destruction and loss of life caused by floods and landslides, the entire consignment will be distributed through NIWFS and PVP, in coordination with local governments, in the affected districts of Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Siraha, Saptari, Rupandehi, Gorkha, Manang, Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Dolakha and Dhading in four Provinces.

This aid is part of the Government of India’s periodic humanitarian assistance and flood and landslide relief support to Nepal.
