UML Nepal faction likely to join government



KATHMANDU: The disgruntled faction of the CPN-UML led by senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal is likely to join the incumbent government led by the Nepali Congress (NC).

Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at a Standing Committee meeting of his party held at Paris Danda, Koteshwor, Tuesday afternoon informed about the likelihood of the Nepal faction joining the government. “As efforts to retain party unity continues, we will also join the government,” Prachanda quoted senior leader Nepal as saying.

Prachanda and UML leader Nepal had held a meeting on Tuesday morning.

According to Maoist sources, the Nepal faction of the UML would be allocated at least six ministries along with various appointments to constitutional bodies.
