Hindus are outraged by former PM Bhattarai’s tweet: NC lawmaker Sah

KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Abhishek Pratap Shah has objected to former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai’s July 21 sarcastic message which had mocked hindu rituals.

Speaking during the zero hour of Tuesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, lawmaker Shah said that all religions should be respected in a secular country.

“Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai re-tweeted an insulting tweet and attacked religion,” he said, adding, “It is our belief that all religions should be respected in a secular country.”

NC lawmaker Shah remarked that Hindus all around the country are outraged at such remarks coming from such a leader who had been the Prime Minister once.

He suggested Dr. Bhattarai to be more caring to the sentiments of the people and not to make such comments.
