Hearing on HoR dissolution case begins

KATHMANDU: The hearing on the writ petition against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) has begun on Sunday.

Senior Advocate Sabita Bhandari has started debating on behalf of the writ petitioners.

As soon as she started her pleading, advocate Bhandari asked Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana to provide her a time of five minutes for her to speak.

CJ Rana then responded saying, “Take more time. Five minutes may not be sufficient to put forth their views.”

The debate on behalf of the writ petitioners is concluding on Sunday.

In the writ petition filed by 146 lawmakers demanding the appointment of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as prime minister, they will now have two hours and 35 minutes to debate.
