Three cadres of Biplav outfit nabbed for extortion



KATHMANDU: Saptari Police has arrested three cadres of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Netra Bikram Chand alis Biplav on the charge of extorting money from entrepreneurs, bureaucrats and people’s representatives from Saptari on Friday evening.

According to the District Police Office (DPO), Saptari, Ram Nath Mandal of Khadak Municipality-3, Udaya Nath Mandal of Rajbiraj-4 and Ram Krishna Mand of Bisnupur-1, Saptari have been arrested for their alleged involvement in extortion.

The police informed that among those arrested Ram Nath Mandal is the Saptari district incharge of Biplav outfit while Udaya Nath Mandal and Krishna Mandal are the district committee members of the same party.

The police have seized few SIM cards used to threaten people for extorting money, letters seeking financial ‘help’ and some literatures including a book entitled ‘Jana Bidroha’(People’s rebellion).

Police said they are investigating the case.
