Prachanda-Nepal faction stages sit-in at Maitighar Mandala

KATHMANDU: Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) staged a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Wednesday protesting against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

According to the struggle committee of the disgruntled faction, the Constituent Assembly, federal and provincial lawmakers of the faction participated in the sit-in at Maitighar Mandala.

This will continue until February 3, the struggle committee said.

As per the third phase of protest programs, the faction will hold a protest rally and pay tribute to martyrs on January 29, a protest rally on February 4, a torch rally on February 8 and a mass demonstration on February 10.

The disgruntled faction had staged a whistle rally Tuesday.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has been staging demonstrations against the dissolution of the HoR since December 29.
