NCP Vice-Chair Gautam to initiate nationwide campaign for party unity

KATHMANDU: Vice-Chairman of Nepal Communist Party, Bamdev Gautam has announced what he said “national unity campaign” on Wednesday in a bid to unify the party.

Gautam announced the campaign at a program at Dhobighat in Lalitpur.

NCP Vice-Chairman Gautam said that the NCP, which emerged as one of the most powerful parties in the country’s history, had to undergo unfortunate circumstances due to the party split.

He has also said that the unexpected move of the lawmakers of the House of Representatives, including the Speaker, registering a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister, and the Prime Minister’s decision to dissolve the House instead of facing the no-confidence motion have led to the current situation.

Gautam, who has not taken the side of any faction, said that he would try his best to reunite the NCP from his level.

According to him, he would try to organize meetings at all levels to apprise the party workers and the supporters about the damage caused by the division.

He also said his campaign would also include informing the people and the voters about the necessity of party unity.

Gautam further stated that the campaign would also include providing relief to the families and any person in distress besides making arrangements to send children not being able to attend school due to poor financial conditions.
