Employees of Janakpur Transport Office, middleman arrested with Rs 2,50,000 bribe



JANAKPURDHAM: An office assistant working at the Department of Transport Management and a middleman have been arrested with a bribe amount of Rs 273,000.

A team deployed from the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Bardibas, arrested office assistant Bhogendra Kapar and middleman Ram Kishore Bhagat of Janakpur Sub-Metropolis-10 with the bride money.

CIAA spokesperson, Bed Prasad Bhandari, said that the team took them under control from the office premises on Tuesday.

The duo had demanded a bribe from the examinees while distributing driver’s licenses of excavators and loaders in the office.

After receiving information about the bribe, the CIAA team searched the room of the office assistant Kapar from where they recovered Rs 223,850.

Similarly, the document mentioning the names and registration number of the examinees have been also recovered with Rs 50,000 from him.

The CIAA has taken them under control and is conducting further investigation.
