Dr Sagar Raj Bhandari administered first vaccine in Nepal

KATHMANDU: The corona vaccination campaign has started in Nepal about a year after the first case of corona infection was found in Nepal.

Prime Minister KP Oli inaugurated the vaccination campaign Wednesday.

The first vaccination in Nepal has been started at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Diseases Hospital, Teku. The director of the hospital, Dr. Sagar Rajbhandari, administered the first vaccine.

Likewise, the chief consultant of the hospital Dr. Anup Banstola was administered the second vaccination in Nepal.

Dr. Runa Jha, head of the National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, has also been vaccinated.

Vaccination has started simultaneously from 62 hospitals in the seven provinces, 17 hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley, and more than 120 vaccination centers throughout the ocountry.

In the Nepal Army, Lieutenant General Dr. Bhuvan Raj Kunwar was administered the vaccination against coronavirus for the first time. Kunwar is also the clinical registrar of the Birendra Military Hospital.

Likewise, in the Sudurpaschim Province, Dr. Gunaraj Awasthi, director of the state health directorate was given the first vaccine.

In the Karnali Province, COVID-19 focal person Dr Navaraj KC administered the first COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr Rajendra Khanal, Superintendent of Lumbini Provincial Hospital has been vaccinated first in the Lumbini Province.

Similarly, Dr. Chuman Lal Das, Medical Superintendent of Koshi Hospital and Dr. Deepak Sigdel, Physician have been vaccinated first in Province 1.
