CHITWAN: Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended congratulations and best wishes for the tenth general convention of the CPN-UML and urged everyone to participate in the campaign to institutionalize democracy.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the main opposition party in Chitwan on Friday, Prime Minister Deuba congratulated UML Chairman KP Oli for the latter’s role in institutionalizing federalism in the country and urged him to collaborate in the activities carried out to make democracy stronger.

“I urge everyone to participate in the campaign to institutionalize democracy,” Prime Minister Deuba said, adding, “We need to establish a system for resolving disputes through constitutional means.”

He recalled the moments he along with UML chair Oli and other leftist leaders had passed in jail during party-less Panchayat System and requested leaders to play their role to ensure that none has to go to jail for political movement any more.
