KATHMANDU: Nepali national women’s team defeated Malaysia by six wickets in today’s match of the Asian selection of Cricket World Cup in Dubai.

With this win, the Nepali national women’s team has inched towards Twenty20 Cricket World Cup.

Nepal has secured six points from four games. Nepal will play its last match against UAE on Sunday.

If Nepal wins the match by a wide margin, it will be the group winner and will be selected for the Cricket World Cup.

However, Nepal will have to wait for the result of other games as well.

In the ongoing Asian selection competition, UAE and Hong Kong have the same possibility along with Nepal.

UAE, which has won all the previous three games, has six points while Hong Kong has four points.

Today, UAE will compete with Kuwait and Hong Kong will compete with Bhutan.

In their final match, Hong Kong will play Kuwait on Sunday.

The Nepali women’s team met the medium target of 93 runs set by Malaysia by losing 4 wickets with 10 balls to spare.

Captain Rubina Chhetri and Sita Rana Magar shared 48 runs.
