NC sorts out active membership issues in more five districts



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has sorted out the issues of party active membership in five more districts in view of the party’s 14th General Convention.

The party has unveiled the final name list of active members in Mahottari, Siraha, Banke, Surkhet and Dolpa districts. The name list of remaining eight districts will be made public by Monday, according to party office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.

Around 900 thousand active members are the voters for the ward-level convention who are eligible for electing the ward office bearers and regional representatives.

The party has already conducted ward convention in 64 districts with the finalization of active members and 55 districts already holding the ward convention had proceeded with the village/municipality convention on Saturday, said NC central election committee coordinator Mahadev Prasad Yadav.

The issue in remaining eight districts would be resolved soon and the party has decided to complete the local -level elections there before the Dashain festival starting from October 12.
