TAC registers victory in opening of 6th NVA Volleyball Championship



KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) has won the opening match held today under the sixth NVA Club Volleyball Championship.

TAC defeated the Karnali Province in three straight sets to register its victory towards the men’s category. The match was held at the Tripureshwor-based National Sports Council (NSC)’ covered hall.

The team comprising national volleyball players played with 25-8; 25-14 and 25-7 against the Karnali. With this victory, TAC has collected three points.

The matches towards the women’s category under the Championship organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) will kick start on September 28.

A total of 12 teams are competing for the title under the men’s category followed by six squads towards the women’s category. A team winning the title will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 400 thousand and Rs 200 thousand is for the first-runner up and Rs 100 thousand is for the second runner-up.
