NC lawmaker Shrestha appointed Minister of State for Health

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has picked Nepali Congress lawmaker Umesh Shresth as the Minister of State for Health and Population.

Prime Minister Deuba appointed Shrestha on Sunday at a time when criticisms are pouring in saying that the government is not doing much to control the COVID-19 pandemic.

Born in Bhojpur in 2012, Shrestha had become a lawmaker for the first time in the second Constituent Assembly from the Nepali Congress through the proportional representation system. Lawmaker through the proportional representation from the NC, Shrestha is the promoter of Little Angels School based in Lalitpur.

He has been involved in Nepali Congress since 2045 BS.  He is also the former chairman of Private and Boring Schools Organizations (PASBON).
