Upper Tamakoshi’s electricity in national grid line

KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has notified that there will a partial power cut starting from June 27 in the areas receiving electricity from Dhalkebar to Kohalpur substation.

Issuing a notice on Saturday, NEA has informed that as the Khimti-Lamosanghu 132KV transmission line will be shut down from June 27 to July 3 to connect the electricity generated by the national pride Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectricity project, there will be a short time power cut off in the areas receiving electricity from Dhalkebar-Kohalpur Substation.

Assuring that the power will be restored early if the work is completed ahead of time, the Authority has stated that efforts will be made to reduce the power cut time as much as possible by using water from Kulekhani reservoir. Out of 456 MW, 76 MW capacity of the project is to be connected to the transmission line by testing the power generation from the first unit.
