NC President Deuba urges govt to use diplomatic channels for vaccine procurement



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the government to mobilize diplomatic channels to ensure procurement of adequate vaccine against coronavirus disease.

Issuing a press note Monday, NC President said the government should initiate such channels by formulating a concrete plan. He also thanked neighbors India and China for providing vaccines to Nepal earlier.

He warned the country’s health infrastructure will not be able to cope with the situation if the virus spreads at an unprecedented rate. He further demanded the government to increase capacity of health facilities by providing them with additional ventilators, oxygen cylinders, among other medical equipment.

Deuba also asked the government to ensure health professional maintain high morale during the crisis.
