KATHMANDU: Chief District Office (CDO) of Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) Kali Prasad Parajuli has said two days will be given to people to leave for their homes outside Kathmandu before the enforcement of prohibitory order Thursday.
A meeting of CDOs of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have decided to impose a prohibitory order or lockdown for a week or two starting Thursday. However, they have forwarded the proposal to the Council of Minister, which is expected to endorse the proposal.
Meanwhile, CDO Parajuli said the prohibitory order would be implemented Thursday so as to provide time to people wishing to go to homes in districts.
The CDO justified the need of lockdown citing the second wave of coronavirus infection and necessary steps to curb the rapid spread of COVID-19 infection.
The CDOs have also appealed to the general public to strictly abide by health protocols given the worsening situation of the pandemic.
