Pokhara Chamber of Commerce calls for running business adopting safety sensitivities

POKHARA: The Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called for entrepreneurs to operate their businesses adopting all necessary health safety arrangements.

Issuing a press release, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged to make smooth supply and transport of daily essential goods adopting transparent, simple and effective measures, maintain necessary social distance with consumers and citizens while selling and purchasing goods, avoid the unnecessary crowd and mandatorily use masks.

The press release issued by Chamber’s general-secretary Surendra Man Bijukchhe called for all three tiers of the government and stakeholders to place appropriate health safety arrangements to protect citizens from the crisis brought out by the second wave of the COVID-19 and assure citizens of the government-delivered health services.

It was unfortunate for the private sector, including business and industry to face the situation of ‘mini lockdown’ at a time when the industry and business are coming back to normalcy, the chamber of commerce and industry said.

“The resurgence of crisis when we are awaiting the government-announced relief package would be an alarming bell. We are not aware of where does this situation lead us to? It is our duty and responsibility to follow the health safety protocol stipulated by the Ministry of Health”, the release reads.

The entrepreneurs and industrialists are always under pressure to shoulder up added responsibilities in the time of crisis, the chamber said.

It is also the responsibility of the private sector to perform as per the government policy to revitalize the economy sliding into a negative trend due to COVID-19 taking safety measures, the release added.
