NC postpones today’s CWC meeting due to COVID fear



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has postponed its Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting called for Monday.

Party office-bearers decided to postpone the meeting in view of rising cases of coronavirus of late, according to NC Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi.

The party will firstly conduct PCR test of the CWC members and hold the meeting after receiving the reports.

The CWC meeting has been rescheduled for April 28, by which NC expects PCR reports of all CWC members.

A meeting of the NC office-bearers held on Sunday also dwelled on preparations for 14th general convention and efforts to bring a no-confidence motion against the incumbent government.

NC has made public a calendar to hold its 14th general convention in Kathmandu on coming August 23-26.

As per the calendar, NC’s village/town ward convention would be held on July 4, rural municipality convention on July 6, and province assembly constituency convention on July 9.

Likewise, the convention of the district having only one House of Representative constituency would be held on July 11 while it would take place on July 14 in the district with more than one electoral constituency.

The province convention is scheduled to be held on July 21.
