Kathmandu Valley DAOs suspend non-essential services from today



KATHMANDU: Three District Administration Offices (DAOs) in the Kathmandu Valley have suspended all non-essential services for a week from today.

The DAOs stated that all non-essential services have been suspended owing to the growing risk of the coronavirus.

A joint meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur districts Sunday decided to suspend all non-essential services provided by the district administration office for one week.

Kathmandu Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli said that non-essential services have been suspended for a week with effect from Monday.

According to him, the meeting has also requested over-crowded offices to provide services maintaining the schedule for each day for a week.

Meanwhile, Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur are scheduled to hold a meeting today to discuss the risk of COVID-19.

With the coronavirus infection cases increasing each day, CDOs are holding a meeting to discuss measures to curb the infection.

All three districts in Kathmandu Valley have witnessed more than 500 infected cases. More than 1,100 cases of coronavirus were reported in Kathmandu on Sunday.

According to Lalitpur CDO Dhundi Prasad Niraula, they are holding a meeting today to discuss steps to curb the increase of coronavirus in the Valley.

Meanwhile, the district administration offices in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur will be closed from today except for urgent works.
