UML leader Khanal leaves Baluwatar after addressing PP meet

Urges the leadership to revive committees as in pre-unification state

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML leader Jhala Nath Khanal has demanded that the party committees existing on May 16, 2018, be revived.

Leader Khanal has left after addressing UML’s Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting held in Baluwatar Friday.

Leader Khanal said to the leadership that the decisions including that of March 12 and onwards should be revoked and the leadership should make everyone feel they belong to the UML.

Disgruntled Nepal-Khanal faction of the UML had been demanding the meetings should be held at the party’s office and had been abstaining from the meetings at PM’s residence earlier.

The Central Committee members’ meeting of the faction held in Kalanki today had decided to join the PP meeting called by PM Oli.

Former PM Khanal and other leaders had joined the PP meeting today, except for Madhav Kumar Nepal and Bhim Rawal .

UML source informed that there were not many agenda in today’s meeting. The PP meeting formally ratified the name of Bishal Bhattarai as party’s Chief Whip in the House of Representatives.
