Monetary offerings at Pashupatinath from ‘QR Code’ system



KATHMANDU: Devotees can now make monetary offering at Pashupatinath from ‘QR Code’ system.

Monetary offering could be offered from QR Code kept at four different places of Pashupatinath including south entrance gate, the shoe and slipper room and the main temple premises. A machine has been kept there for the same.

The monetary offering could be deposited at the bank account of Pashupati Area Development Trust from online payment system by using mobile. It is learnt that the system would help control the misuse of monetary offerings.

An agreement in this regard has been signed today at the collaboration of the PADT and Bank of Kathmandu Ltd.
Inaugurating the QR Code system today, Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank, Maha Prasad Adhikari, said that this system should be developed across the nation.

He laid emphasis on the need of creating awareness across the nation in this regard.

Similarly, Member Secretary of PADT, Dr Pradeep Dhakal, said the technology will facilitate in making monetary offerings.

Chairperson of Bank of Kathmandu Ltd, Prakash Shrestha, shared that this service would be started in other shrines of the country as well.
