Chinese and Indian ambassadors meet with NC Prez Deuba

KATHMANDU:  With the new government formation being the talk of the town following the reinstatement of the House of Representatives (HoR), Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanki and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra have met with President of main opposition Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Chinese Ambassador Yanqi and Indian Ambassador Kwatra met with President Deuba in the changed political context created after the Supreme Court (SC) issued the verdict in favor of the reinstatement of the HoR.

Chinese and Indian ambassadors have intensified their political meetings after the SC reversed the government’s decision to dissolve the HoR on February 23.

The meeting between the ambassadors and the President Deuba held at Budhanilkantha dwelled on the latest political developments of the country, according to a source privy to the meeting.

Nepali Congress is now in a pivotal role as the next government is dependent on the main opposition.

Earlier, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chairman duo Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and Madhav Nepal had met with Deuba and proposed him for a power-sharing.
