Prachanda-Nepal faction organizes whistle rally in Kathmandu (with video)



KATHMANDU: Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) organized a whistle rally in the Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday.

The protest whistle rally that began from Lainchaur passed through Asan, Indrachowk and converged into a corner meeting at Basantapur Durbar Square.

Youth and student leaders of the Prachanda-Nepal faction staged a demonstration by blowing whistles against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).

According to the struggle committee, the Constituent Assembly, federal and provincial lawmakers of the faction will stage a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala from January 27 to February 3.

As per the third phase of protest programs, the disgruntled faction will hold a protest rally and pay tribute to martyrs on January 29, a protest rally on February 4, a torch rally on February 8 and a mass demonstration on February 10.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has been staging demonstrations against the dissolution of the HoR since December 29.
