Prachanda-Nepal faction staging whistle rally in capital today



KATHMANDU:  Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is holding a whistle rally in the Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday.

The protest rally which begins from Lainchaur at 3 pm will pass through Asan, Indrachowk and converge into a corner meeting at Basantapur Durbar Square.

Youth and student leaders of Prachanda-Nepal faction will stage a demonstration by blowing whistles against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), said Ram Prasad Sapkota, the coordinator of the Youth Association Nepal of the faction.

According to the struggle committee, the Constituent Assembly, federal and provincial lawmakers of the faction will stage a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala from January 27 to February 3.

As per the third phase of protest programs, the disgruntled faction will hold a protest rally and pay tribute to martyrs on January 29, a protest rally on February 4, torch rally on February 8 and mass demonstration on February 10.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has been staging demonstrations against the dissolution of the HoR since December 29.
