NRB set to increase refinancing to Rs 2 trillion



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is making preparations to double the size of refinancing from one trillion to two trillion designated for the fiscal year 2020/21.

According to Dr Gunakar Bhatta, the spokesperson for NRB, out of one trillion refinancing budget allocated for the current fiscal year, Rs 85 billion has already been approved while the application deadline for the remaining Rs 15 billion is until January 29.

The central bank of Nepal has been providing such type of loan for the security of the loan provided by other banks and financial institutes.

The size of refinancing budget will be increased following the half-yearly review of the monetary policy, said NRB.
