Veep Nidhi declares candidacy for NC President



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi has announced his candidacy for the post of party president in the party’s 14th General Convention.

Nidhi made the announcement at a press conference held at Baneshwor Banquet in Thapagaun, Kathmandu on Thursday.

At the press conference, he said, “At this stage of my political career and leadership experience, I have presented myself as the central President of the NC. I would also like to make it clear that my candidacy is based on the need of the hour to utilize wisdom and logic to realize the practical aspects of the changed political system.”

Nidhi vowed to make the NC victorious in the upcoming election, committed to facilitating the generational transfer of power in the party and advocated amendment of the party’s statute to make it easier for younger generations to move forward.

He also pledged to institutionalize the republic system of governance and assured that he would deliver his pledges and commitments within the next five years.
