Domestic scheduled flights from Kathmandu affected due to hazy weather

KATHMANDU: Most of the domestic flights scheduled to take off from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have been affected due to hazy weather this morning.

The TIA has informed that the domestic flights scheduled to take off from Kathmandu have been hit due to poor visibility caused by thick fog and mist.

Currently, there has been a crowd of passengers at the internal terminal of the TIA after the flights did not take off as scheduled.

According to the Airport, scheduled flights to Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Surkhet, Pokhara, Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj have been delayed.

At least 5 kilometers visibility is required for the VFR fights and 1,600 meters for IFR flights to land and take off.

According to the Airport, as many as 150 flights have been scheduled to conduct flights today.

The weather is gradually improving and the flights will resume once the weather will be clear, said a TIA source.
