Supreme Court Bar, too, calls for CJ Rana to resign

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court Bar Association has also demanded the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

A meeting of the Supreme Court Bar held Monday ruled that Rana’s resignation was the only option to judicial reform and upholding judicial integrity, said member Advocate Bikas Bhattarai.

Earlier, the Nepal Bar Association had also decided to seek CJ Rana’s resignation and said a formal decision would be taken after a meeting with the Advisory Committee on Tuesday.

After Supreme Court judges boycotted assigned benches and Full Court meeting convened by CJ Rana and sought his resignation, Supreme Court Bar also demanded CJ Rana’s resignation.
