EPL Cricket: Kathmandu vs Lalitpur in inaugural match today

KATHMANDU:  Everest Premier League (EPL) Twenty20 is taking place from today.

Defending champion Lalitpur Patriots is taking on Kathmandu Kings-11 in an inaugural match at TU Cricket Ground.

The match will start at 12:15 pm. This is the fourth edition of the EPL. Lalitpur is captained by Kushal Bhurtel while Sandeep Lamichhane is the skipper of Kathmandu.

Lalitpur’s squad includes Sri Lanka’s Oshada Fernando, Sandun Weerakkodi, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai, Bhutan’s Ranjung Mikyo Dorji and England’s Alex Black.

The Kathmandu team includes former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Singapore’s Janak Prakash.
Franchise teams from six cities are participating in the competition.

The winner of the competition will receive Rs 5 million.
