One arrested for misusing photo of President, PM



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have arrested a person in charge of making a Tiktok video by misusing the photos of the President and Prime Minister.

Cyber Bureau of the Nepal Police arrested Som Prasad Ghimire of Mechinagar in Jhapa district on Friday and made him public today.

Ghimire had made a troll video by misusing the photos of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and uploaded them as Tiktok.

Bureau Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police Nabinda Aryal said that they arrested Ghimire on a charge of character assassination of the President and Prime Minister through the social networking site.

According to the Bureau, Ghimire was arrested under the Electronic Transaction Act-2063 BS. Ghimire has been remanded in custody for seven days for further investigations.
