Choreographer Aswini Jha appointed FDCN advisor



KATHMANDU: The Fashion Designers Council of Nepal (FDCN) has appointed choreographer Aswini Kant Jha as its advisor. The meeting of the working committee had unanimously passed the proposal of FDCN president to appoint Aswini Jha as an advisor to the council.

Amit Jha, FDCN president, handed over an appointment letter to Aswini Jha on the occasion of the organization’s sixth anniversary in Kathmandu Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, FDCN President Amit Jha stated that choreographer Aswini Jha achieved great success after accumulating experience of modeling, beauty pageant and fashion choreography in national and international forums for over a decade and a half. He added Aswini Jha possessed good understanding of Nepal and international fashion and beauty pageant.

He said that all fashion designers as well as the FDCN was to benefit immensely as the organization got him as a consultant and could use his knowledge, expertise and long-term experience. He hoped that choreographer Aswini Jha’s advice and guidance would help make the FDCN a successful organization. FDCN President Jha also highlighted the work done by the organization and the progress made in the last five years.

Choreographer Aswini Jha thanked the FDCN for deeming him worthy for the responsibility and said choreographers and fashion designers complemented each other. Choreographer Jha shared his past experience, saying he received a lot of support from fashion designers since his initial days in modeling. He said that Covid has affected the entire sector at present and has tremendously affected the field of fashion designing as well as modeling and beauty pageants.

He noted before Covid, Nepali beauty pageants and the fashion world were making a good presence at the world stage and also expressed his hope that, there will be a strong presence of Nepali fashion designers at the global arena in the upcoming days, for which he is ever ready to provide any kind of help from his side.

Other speakers at the event also welcomed choreographer Jha to the organization, shared their views, opinions, and reviewed the council’s achievements and shortcomings over the past five years. In addition, the action plan for the coming days of the organization was also discussed.
