NC lawmaker Shrestha appointed Minister of State for Health



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has appointed lawmaker Umesh Shrestha as Minister of State for Health and Population.

According to the Office of the President, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has appointed Shrestha as the Minister of State on Sunday. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Deuba has kept the Health Ministry with himself.

The appointment was done in line with Article 76 (9) of the constitution by President Bidya Devi Bhandari upon the recommendation of the prime minister.

Shrestha was elected to the House of Representatives from the Nepali Congress.
