Questions raised over judiciary: PM Oli



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said questions have been raised on the impartiality of the judiciary.

Addressing a book launch event at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar Friday, PM Oli doubted whether the court had ruled in setting. He said a political leader’s prediction on the case a day before the court gave its verdict, and as the prediction and court ruling matched questions are raised about the judiciary.

The PM was referring, without naming, to Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s remark in Dhading regarding the court ruling on a petition filed against June 4 and 10 cabinet expansions. The court barred Ministers inducted into the cabinet stating that a caretaker government could not expand the cabinet.
