Province 1 Assembly approves proposal on Appropriation Bill

KATHMANDU: A proposal seeking consideration for discussion on Province Appropriation Bill-2078 BS has been approved unanimously today.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Tanka Limbu had tabled the proposal in line with the Province Regulation 2074 Rules 118 (5) in the meeting. The meeting held discussions on the appropriation bill related to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure.

Lawmakers Kul Prasad Sanwa, Kusum Kumari Shrestha, Jhalak Bahadur Magar and Ram Kumar Rai complained that the budget allocation was not propositional and justifiable under the ministry. They however, said that, budget of 12.84 billion rupees was allocated in infrastructure sectors but the projects were selected on the basis of power and prejudice. They complained that the budget for some important projects was discontinued.

They said budget should be proportionally allocated in education and tourism sectors. The lawmakers argued that government was adopting discriminatory policy to the teachers in tourism service that should be corrected soon.

The Assembly will again meet at 12pm on Sunday.
