Preparation to file contempt of court writ against PM Oli

KATHMANDU: A contempt of court writ against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to be filed at the Supreme Court (SC).

Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi is filing the writ at the SC seeking prison term and fine against PM Oli for dissolving the House of Representatives (HoR) for the second time by going against the apex court’s February 23, 2021, order to reinstate it.

“The writ is likely to be registered Wednesday as the registration process is underway,” Tripathi said.

The writ has sought one year sentence and Rs 10,000 fine against PM Oli pursuant to Article 128 of the constitution and section 71 (2) of the Administration of Justice Act, 2016.
