Former Speakers conclude HoR dissolution unconstitutional

KATHMANDU: Former Speakers have unanimously concluded that the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) is unconstitutional.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota held a meeting with former HoR Speakers to discuss the recent and second dissolution of the HoR at Parliament Building in New Baneshwor Tuesday afternoon.

The former Speakers are also of the view that the Supreme Court must hear the case against HoR dissolution at the earliest.

As many as four former Speakers met Speaker Sapkota Tuesday. The former Speakers who took part in the discussion are Maoist Center’s Onsari Gharti Magar, Nepali Congress’ Ram Chandra Poudel, Maoist Center’s Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Tara Nath Ranabhat.

It is also to note that former Speaker Subash Nembang did not attend the meeting.
