Speaker Agni Sapkota holding talks with former speakers



KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota is holding consultation with former speakers on the current political stalemate.

Former Speakers Ram Chandra Poudel, Onsari Gharti, Krishna Bahadur Mahara are participating in person while former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana and Tara Nath Ranabhat are attending the meeting virtually.

Former Speaker Subas Nembang is not participating due to his busy schedule, said, Sapkota’s secretariat.

The meeting which began at 1 pm in New Baneshwor is dwelling on the latest politial stalemate and its possible way out.

Speaker Sapkota is holding a meeting with former speakers to discuss the current political developments and take suggestions from them, said Sapkota’s secretariat.

The Nepali politics has been in turmoil after Bidya Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives (HoR) on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Oli.

Demanding the reinstatement of the HoR, as many as 146 lawmakers on Monday filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court.
