Ishwarpur municipality sealed after getting 58 COVID-19 positive



SARLAHI: Sarlahi district administration has decided to seal Ishwarpur Municipality of Sarlahi for 72 hours from Tuesday.

According to sources, the municipality was sealed after the mayor, ward chairman, ward members, employees of various banks and traders in the city area were found infected with coronavirus pandemic.

Out of 123 swabs sent for test to Janakpur Provincial Laboratory on May 20, nearly fifty percent came with coronavirus positive result.

58 people including Mayor Manoj Devkota, ward chairs, ward members, Municipality staffs, and employees of various banks have tested positive, the Municipality sources said.

Devkota said that the Municipality has been sealed to initiate contact tracing and to stop the pandemic from spreading further.
